Flexible Academics, Experiential Learning

With unparalleled opportunities, BU prepares you to succeed academically, professionally, and socially. Whatever career path, however things change, wherever in the world you go, you'll be ready.

If you know what you plan to study, apply directly to that program and begin those classes your first day on campus. Not quite sure yet? No problem! Nearly one third of students each year enroll Undeclared. All students have the chance to explore classes across all BU's schools and colleges, and the majority of students choose to pursue more than one program.

As a Tier 1 Research institution, an emphasis is put on making sure that students don't simply absorb knowledge, they apply it. Research is built into the curriculum for all majors, and opportunities are available to get more involved through research for credit and the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (bu.edu/urop).

Students also apply their learning and gain professional experiences through internships. With over 4,000 internship connections, students can gain experience in Boston or across the globe. 90% of students complete at least one internship before graduation, with many completing more than one.
