The Boarding Schools' Association and The British Association of Independent Schools with International Students, in association with UK Education Guide and the Universities of Exeter and Sheffield, are delighted to announce an online information and recruitment university fair aimed specifically at international and ex-pat students, from 11:00-17:00 GMT on March 23, 2022. This event builds on the success of our first online fair last September, which was attended by 300 international students in 52 UK boarding schools.
Our student survey at that fair showed that the number one concern of international pupils in UK boarding schools was how well they will succeed academically at university. Our second fair aims to help schools and universities to address that concern and better support international and ex-pat students as they transition from school to Higher Education.
The fair will offer the following:
· 17 UK Universities (both high and low tariff) at virtual booths to meet prospective students individually and answer their questions
· Presentations addressing key challenges faced by International students and schools including Q&A sessions with current international undergraduates
· 1:1 high quality advice sessions for pupils on topics such as Personal Statement development, IELTS and general university advice.
The event is aimed at Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 international students as well as Heads of Careers, HE Advisors and Heads of EAL. The event is completely free of charge.
