Pre-College Programs at Carnegie Mellon | Summer 2022 In Person


Carnegie Mellon’s Pre-College Programs mirror the undergraduate experience, giving rising juniors (current Pre-IB) and seniors (current IB1) the opportunity to explore their interests and passions while receiving instruction from acclaimed Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff. We provide a holistic and robust student experience that includes academic and personal development both inside and outside of the classroom in order to prepare students for the future.

Opening Day: Saturday, July 2, 2022 Orientation Day: Sunday, July 3, 2022

First Day of Classes: Tuesday, July 5, 2022

No classes on July 4th (students will participate in Pre-College programming).


3-Week Programs: Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, July 22, 2022 AI4All @ Carnegie Mellon, Art, Computational Bio, Music*

Classes end Friday, July 22nd, with move out Saturday, July 23rd.


4-Week Programs: Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, July 29, 2022 Architecture*, Computer Science Scholars, Summer Academy for Science and Math (SAMS)

Classes end Friday, July 29th, with move out Saturday, July 30th.


6-Week Programs: Tuesday, July 5 – Friday, August 12, 2022 Art*, Architecture*, Design, Drama, Music*, National High School Game Academy, Summer Session, Writing & Culture


Classes end Friday, August 12th, with move out Saturday, August 13th.


There are fees for the Pre-College Programs which includes tuition, housing, dining services, university fees and a transportation pass.
