As the number 5 Best Value School in the United States, we know that the value of a Rice University education vastly surpasses the cost. To make Rice more affordable for families, we have generous financial aid policies for all of our students, including international students.
While we are need-aware for both admission and financial aid, international students who apply for and receive need-based aid will have 100% of demonstrated need met with institutional grant aid.
We also offer merit scholarships, which are renewable for four years. These are typically awarded to students who distinguish themselves scholastically or personally within our pool of applicants. We consider students for merit scholarships automatically - no additional applications are required. This year, we provided more than $10 million in merit scholarships to Rice undergraduates.
