Explore Options

This site is run by a company that supports university applications and whilst its university database is not exhaustive, within the application requirements tab on each university profile they have the average IB scores accepted and where available the application success rate.
They also have average living costs for the area, rankings overviews and some scholarship information.
Be aware that they list programs in all languages, not just English and the IB scores and success rate percentages are averages across the whole institution. However, they are a good indicator if the university does not publish more detailed information.

Costs

If you are a EU student studying at a public university then you can expect to pay no tuition fees providing you do not exceed the minimum duration of your studies plus 2 semesters. For international students who hold a residency permit for studies, you will pay around 726 EUR per semester.

Other types of universities set their own tuition fees so you are advised to check with individual institutions.

You will also need to budget for living costs. Fortunately, living costs are not as high as other neighbouring European countries, however you should expect to pay higher in popular tourist-driven cities. You should aim to budget up to 1000 EUR per month for accommodation, food, transport, social activities, and study materials.

Funding

Scholarships are most commonly awarded on merit or nationality. The Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research https://oead.at/en/to-austria/grants-and-scholarships/ gives you access to information on scholarship opportunities.

Some institutions offer their own scholarships. You can find these on institutions websites or on grants.at database website. However financial support for Bachelors studies are rare due to the low tuition costs.
