About the Work Experience & Career Day
During the morning, you will take part in an application session where you learn about dentistry as a career, the different routes into dentistry, and what to expect from university training. You will learn how to write your personal statement, the process of the UCAT test, and how to gain dentistry work experience. The morning will end by looking at the interview process and starting to prepare for this.
During the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to develop your practical skills through learning about procedures such as extractions, dental cavities and restorations. You will also learn the basics on history taking through clinical case studies.
The day will end with a Q&A session where you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about stepping into a career in dentistry.
Who should attend this work experience and career day?
Any students who are aged 13-18 years old and are considering dentistry as a career path.
