About the Taster Lecture
Join this taster lecture to explore whether computer science is the right course for you. Throughout the session you will learn how machine learning works and have the opportunity to experiment with it yourself. You will also be presented will current research the University of Sheffield are undergoing and the challenges faced in the field.
4pm: Welcome and introductions
4.10pm: Introduction to computer science at Sheffield
4.20pm: Introduction to machine learning
4.30pm: Interactive subject taster
5.15pm: Q&A session with current students
Who is this taster lecture suitable for?
Students in IB1 and IB2 who are interested in studying Computer Science at university.
Please do not register to attend if you have any lessons or other pre-planned activities which may overlap with this taster lecture, unless you have received authorised permission to do so.
