Dietetics/Nutrition

Dietetics/Nutrition

Although working and studying in similar fields, Dietitians and Nutritionists have different roles, different training and are regulated by different bodies.

Dietitians translate the science of nutrition into everyday information about food. They advise patients but also assess, diagnose and treat dietary and nutritional problems.

Nutritionists use their knowledge of the science of food to help individuals and groups make the right choices about what they eat. Their focus is to teach and inform the public and health professionals about diet and nutrition.
